The Government, through Cormagdalena, signed yesterday the act that guarantees the dredging of the access channel to the Port of Barranquilla for six more months, which will help vessels of different drafts to navigate this section of the Magdalena River.

Thus, thanks to the work that will be carried out by the Shanghai consortium and Panamerican Dregding and Engineering SAS, with Findeter resources for $55,487 million, The conditions for the departure and arrival of foreign trade vessels in this port of the country will be maintained during a large part of 2023.
“Our commitment is the navigability of the Magdalena River and this time we have expectations with a greater number of imports and exports in the Port of Barranquilla, which will boost the economy of the region”, assured Álvaro Redondo Castillo, director of Cormagdalena.
