Supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro occupied about two blocks from Paulista Avenue, between Fiesp and Trianon Park, on Sunday afternoon (3). They defend amnesty to the former president and the convicts of the attacks of 8 January, support the fares against Brazil announced by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and ask for the impeachment and arrest of Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court.
The act in Sao Paulo was organized by right-wing and religious politicians supporters of the former president, such as Pastor Silas Malafaia of the Assembly of God Victory in Christ. There were similar manifestations in other Brazilian cities, such as Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.
In addition to many flags and shirts in Brazil, the act was also marked by US flags.

Without Bolsonaro and Tarcisio
Those present at this Sunday’s demonstration state that Bolsonaro is persecution.
The former president did not participate in the protest. Since July 18, Bolsonaro fulfills precautionary measures imposed by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to avoid the risk of escape and the obstruction of justice. Among them is the use of an electronic anklet. Determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the measures do not allow him to leave home over the weekend, nor after 7 pm and before 6 am Monday to Friday.

Bolsonaro’s ally, the São Paulo governor, Tarcísio de Freitas, had a medical procedure scheduled for Sunday afternoon and also did not participate in the event.
Amnesty
The act calls for broad amnesty to those involved in the attacks on the headquarters of the three powers on January 8, 2023, when people camped in front of the Army General Barracks in Brasilia, joined the most vandals and depredated the Federal Supreme Court, the National Congress and the Dawn Palace, the Federal Executive, with the intention of preventing the government sworn in January 1 through a coup d’état.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the attack was the apex of the coordinated coup plot since mid-2021, when a deliberate attack on the electronic polls and the electoral system extended throughout the campaign and after the 2022 elections.
Next September, the first class of the Supreme Court is expected to decide whether former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven allies will be convicted of this coup attempt. They are the defendants of the central core of the criminal organization pointed out by PGR.

Trump and USA
The protest on Paulista Avenue also featured flags from the United States and posters to support President Donald Trump, for sanctions against Moraes and the 50% rates announced to pressure Brazil. Bolsonaro’s ally, Trump says that the Brazilian judiciary pursues the former president and calls a witch hunt for the ongoing process in the STF.

Protesters also exalted Eduardo Bolsonaro’s role by inflating the pressure of the United States. The federal deputy has met with leaders of the Republican Party and the Trump administration. According to PF and PGR, Eduardo acts on behalf of his father in a journey by Washington to convince the US government to impose sanctions on Brazilian authorities as a way of pressuring Brazil’s court to file the coup criminal action.

The Military Police did not provide an accurate estimate of the number of participants or the effective employee in the safety of the area. However, he confirmed the reinforcement of policing, which already had a considerable contingent on Sundays.
