Panama has already confirmed its tenth case of monkeypox and to prevent the spread of the disease, the Health authorities are coordinating the acquisition of 1,000 vaccines to apply them to the population at greatest risk.
The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, assured that they work in a coordinated manner with the Pan American Health Organization, and that Panama is among the first countries that will receive the vaccines, after the United States Food and Drug Administration, approved it for emergency use.
In recent days, the director of Public Health, Melva Cruz, said on Radio Panama that they are working with a view to having the vaccine reach the country in September.
The authorities have emphasized that all registered cases must carry out isolation, either at home or in a hospital, for which they have suitable facilities at the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital, where they care for anyone who does not meet the requirements to isolate themselves at home.
