Regional agencies of the Authority for Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition (Acodeco) carried out verification of fuel prices, in different stations, according to Executive Decree Executive Decree No. 134 of May 20, 2022 (which regulates maximum prices of sale to the public, of some liquid fuels in the Republic of Panama).
During the verifications carried out in the morning hours, the Regional Administration of Acodeco in Chiriquí detected that in the Valmar – Dana station, both in the boards and dispensers, they had 95 octane gasoline at B/. 1,568, in breach of Resolution No. MIPRE-2022-0024390 of June 29, 2022 (the resolution price is B/.1,540 for David); and gasoline 91 to B/. 1,428 per liter (new price B/. 1,387).
While the Acodeco of Coclé, found that the Auto Parts San Juan SA station, located on the Interamerican Highway Aguadulce, next to the National Police, maintained higher gasoline prices of 95 in B/. 1,563 and the 91 octane in B/. 1,412. The maximum prices established by this resolution, for Aguadulce, are B/. 1,527 95 octane gasoline and regular 91 oct. to B/. 1,374.
According to this resolution, issued by the Ministry of Energy, the new prices will take effect from July 1, 2022 at 6:00 a.m., until July 15, 2022 at 5:59 a.m.
It should be noted that article 3 of Executive Decree Executive Decree No. 134 of May 20, 2022 establishes that Acodeco will execute and ensure faithful compliance, both with this executive decree, and with the resolutions issued by the Ministry for these purposes. Nacional de Energía and will apply the respective sanctions to the economic agents that violate these provisions, by virtue of the power granted by Law 45 of October 31, 2007.
In this way, the verifications are carried out, from 6 am on the day that the price changes apply, to ensure that the maximum prices established are met in the different parts of the country.
