ACODECO and 50 officials from the community boards of the province of Panama will verify compliance with three decrees

Acodeco carries out massive verifications of price control and marketing margins, in the districts of Calidonia, San Felipe, Chorrillo, Curundú, Santa Ana and Betania, with the inter-institutional participation of the Government of Panama, the Technical Board, local governments and staff of the communal boards.


This inter-institutional team was formed and trained in a meeting held today, with the presence of the governor of the province of Panama, Carla García, and the administrator of Acodeco, Jorge Quintero Quirós, to support the efforts to verify the decrees on the basic basket of food and medicine.


Acodeco needs to strengthen its verifiers throughout the country, so this support is of great importance for a better control of the decrees issued by the National Government, regarding the basic basket of food, household products and medicines.


More than 50 officials from the community boards of the different corregimientos of the province of Panama, make up the support team for the control of decrees 13, 16 and 17 of this year, which require visits to thousands of commercial premises.


This work methodology in support of Acodeco’s verification work will be applied at the national level, which has already begun in Veraguas and Panama, where inspections have been carried out in conjunction with the technical boards. Soon, it is expected to do the same in other provinces. It should be noted that, today throughout the country, pharmacies have been visited to monitor compliance with the 30% discount on 170 medications.
