When Regina Seemann Audiffred heard her little daughter say to her brother: I don’t want to go with my dad because what he does to me in the bathtub shocks me.learned that something in the relationship between her violent ex-husband, Guillermo Sesma Suárez, and her three children, was very wrong.

From that confidence, almost by accident, the lives of the four took a turn: criminal complaints, constant expert reports to determine the degree of sexual abuse and psychological affectation; clinical opinions, courses and workshops for support and containment, until reaching the Doctor Juan N. Navarro Children’s Psychiatric Hospital.

They have been months of anguish for their three children – a girl and a boy, friends of 11 years old and the oldest girl of 13 – who suffer from serious emotional consequences, sudden changes in behavior, episodes of psychosis, self-harm, screams, fears, anxiety and a permanent state of alert to his father’s bullying and harassment.

Regina faces threats, smear campaigns and judicial persecution of her ex-husband, a political campaign advisor and Televisa employee, who turned the divorce process and living together with the children, now suspended, into hell. Furthermore, he denounces that he enjoys the political power of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) through his brother, deputy Jesús Sesma Suárez, president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) in the Congress of Mexico City.

Desperate about her situation, faced with the inaction of the authorities, she decided to record a video that went viral: I ask for justice, I ask for peace. I don’t know if the loss of parental authority or prison is necessary for the father who abuses my children. I don’t know. We need the Judiciary to guarantee us that Guillermo is going to leave us in peace and thus be able to heal our heartssays Regina in an interview with The Daywhile his children run and play around him.

She has a long judicial path ahead of her, accompanied by the renowned lawyer Ana Katiria Suárez Castro, who has been handling cases of women victims of gender violence for 22 years. His file in the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office is 08443/02-2024 and the judicial files for family violence and child sexual abuse are 013/0339/2024 and CI-FIDICANNA/59/UI-77S7D701333703-2024.

Although the prosecutor Ulises Lara has not attended to her and keeps her files stagnant, thanks to her determination to defend her children, she is already known in the department, in the hospital and even at home with the nickname Dragon Mom.

–Did you ever imagine that Guillermo Sesma was going to reach these extremes of violence?

-No. He was a victim of childhood sexual abuse. He went to his therapies. I knew he was a dark person, but this is no longer darkness, what we are dealing with goes beyond that.

love-hate story

Regina started dating Guillermo in 2009. They were very in love, they decided to live together in a free union and had three children. They married in 2014. In 2018 they were offered to live in Austin, Texas.

However, the marital relationship deteriorated, so they decided to do couples therapy, but he became more violent: He raped me once. After that, I never saw him again. I have suffered all kinds of violence. Economic violence because he canceled all the credit cards, closed the accounts in the United States, moved all the money, canceled medical and life insurance, everything. Initially the violence was against me, but when we separated, it was against our children.

A mutual friend warned him: Guillermo is going to tear you to pieces and take away your children.. In April 2022, Regina realized she had to get to safety and went to live in a shelter in Texas. The first thing they did was file the corresponding complaints and dye his hair black:

The idea was that we would be protected. There they summoned us to a mediation that ultimately did not take place, then in a hearing I managed to prove that he wanted to take the children and the authority told him that we have the right to return home.

He says that Guillermo changed the locks and they couldn’t get in, but the children needed to get in because they were going to return to school: When I entered the house I saw that my clothes were thrown in garbage bags. It was chaos. Then, the coexistence began. I tried to make life easy for my children when they saw him, but it wasn’t that often because the man traveled a lot..

On the economic issue, he says that everything was terrible, because Guillermo did not pay for the electricity and they were left without electricity for a week: “His attacks continued. And cancel our visas. And he says to me: ‘What are you going to do? You are illegal in the United States.’ I had to pay six months of overdue tuition, transportation, fees, his therapies, everything. Duck: Because of his background, he could see the children only on supervised visits. Obviously it was tremendous for his ego. In September, Guillermo’s lawyers made a statement to him before going to trial: I didn’t have a lawyer, alone with my ex’s defenders. It took six hours, more than 400 pages. Legal attacks

With her political power, her ex-husband opened a file for child abduction on June 23, 2022: It is an invented folder, which with its political relations was quickly passed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hague Convention, Interpol and the FBI were activated. I sent letters everywhere to prove it was a lie. In the end, they take everything from me, because he could never prove to me that I kidnapped my children, because it was a lie..

Duck: I was in limbo, I couldn’t return to Mexico because they were going to arrest me and I couldn’t stay in the United States because I no longer had a visa, because my ex-husband had already canceled them.. They later sold their Austin home and they got me 3 million dollars.

It was not until August 2022 when he returned to Mexico: I lived with my parents for a month and rented an apartment, because he kept the house in Las Lomas where they lived before leaving for the United States. He has five cars, but we receive a pension of 2,300 dollars, which is what was stipulated in the agreement made in Texas, although it was never approved in Mexico..

Regina tries to find normality for her children and they begin living together with their father: I saw that the children did not enjoy being with their father. He spoke badly to them about me. The psychological violence continued and he told them: their mother is a prostitute, she sells her body, she has thousands of boyfriends, she is a pig, she is a witch..

Despite the parental alignment made by Guillermo, his children continued to love their mother: They never turned around on me, ever. They already have a conviction not to return to their father in their lives. It’s impressive.

Her ex-husband denounced her for falsifying a statement and received a summons to the Santa Martha Acatitla prison where she was linked to proceedings: Magically, the file against me was prosecuted in three months. And now I’m going to sign in once a month at the prison.

Disastrous coexistence

The result of living with his father was disastrous. The minors returned crying. After the holidays last Christmas and the resumption of visits, everything got worse: “The children remember that the last time ‘that’ happened to them was on February 2, 2024.”

At a family meal on February 14, his son has a serious crisis: “It was an anxiety attack. He said: ‘I can’t take it anymore, I don’t want to see my dad anymore.’ His sister does the same: “I don’t want to see him either because what he does to me in the bathtub shocks me.”

This is when she decides to go to her lawyer for an evaluation: “The children poured themselves into their support dog and hugged her. And the topic of the bathtub came up again. They started to get nervous. And Ana Katiria asked them: why are you nervous? One of the children answers: ‘it’s just that we promised never to say anything.’ Then they began to tell many more things about the abuse they suffered. And that is when I decided to report it to the Public Ministry agency 59. The two experts recorded the characteristics of child sexual abuse.”

He says that the boy hurts himself, tears the skin off his legs and hands, and pulls his hair, while the girls suffer from anxiety, so he decided to take them to the paedosicologist and expert, Michelle Carrete Zúñiga: Last May, he clearly showed us the sexual abuse in the three.
