Santo Domingo.- The judge of the Third Investigating Court of the National District, Amauri Martínez, ratified the coercive measure of house arrest imposed on Altagracia Guillén, accused in the corruption case of the Medusa network, headed by former attorney JJean Alain Rodriguez.
The magistrate made his decision after rejecting the request for a review of the measure of coercion requested by the defendant’s lawyer, alleging that the assumptions that allowed the imposition have not changed.
Likewise, the judge set for December 29 the mandatory review of the measure of coercion.
Judge Amauri Martínez will begin the preliminary hearing on the 19th for those involved in the Medusa case, headed by the former head of the Public Ministry, Jean Alain Rodríguez, who is in prison.
The Medusa case file involves 41 people and 22 companies, who would have appropriated more than RD$1,000 million through fraudulent maneuvers to steal the resources of the Attorney General’s Office.
