Edesur Dominicana reported that the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Judicial District of Santo Domingo Oeste imposed three months of preventive detention as a measure of coercion against a man caught red-handed with nine electric meters in his possession.
The Public Ministry requested the coercive measure against Samuel Pérez Mancebo, known as (The Coquero)who was surprised when he was loading the meters.
The act is classified as a violation of articles 379 and 381 of the Dominican Penal Code, for which the Public Ministry assigned it the provisional legal classification of aggravated robbery to the detriment of Edesur Dominicana.
The accused must serve three months of preventive detention in the Monte Plata public prison.
Pérez Mancebo was arrested on October 17, 2024, on Penetration Sur Street in the Herrera sector, Santo Domingo Oeste, when he was carrying the devices hidden in a bag.
Edesur Dominicana condemns this type of criminal acts that threaten the stability of the electricity supply and reiterates its commitment to the prosecution of energy fraud.
