In accordance with The Pressthe femicide admitted the facts during the preliminary hearing held on April 9, before the Specialized Court for Violence of Carazo, in charge of Judge Socorro López Pérez.
The defendant stated that he murdered his partner out of a fit of “anger” and that he is “very sorry” for the crime.

“I am very sorry and I want to pay for my deeds, I did it but it was not my intention, it was anger, what was done is done, I do want to plead guilty, I took the life of the mother of my children,” Bayardo Obando said at the hearing. preliminary.
In the accusation presented by the Prosecutor’s Office, it was detailed that the subject inflicted 18 wounds with a machete on María Auxiliadora Jiménez in different parts of the body. According to the forensic opinion, the woman bled to death.
At the time of the crime, the victim was going to a care center in Carazo, looking for medical attention for her children, one of them with a disability. Obando murdered his partner in front of his mother and his two children. In the incident, the victim’s mother was injured when she tried to defend her daughter.
The head of the Specialized Court for Violence in Carazo admitted the case and found Bayardo Antonio Obando Tijerino guilty for the murder of María Auxiliadora Jiménez Hernández.
The prosecutor in the case asked the judge life imprisonment for defendantfor the femicide against his partner, plus six years in jail for serious injuries to the detriment of Martha Hernández Sandino, mother of the victim.
For her part, the defense attorney requested the minimum sentence established by the Law and the “spontaneous” declaration of the femicide be taken as mitigating. The reading of the sentence is scheduled for this April 26.
