Account holders across the country reported today (29), on social media, instabilities in Pix, an instant payment system developed by the Central Bank (BC). According to site downdetectorwhich monitors complaints about services in real time, the peak of occurrences occurred between 10 am and 1:30 pm.
Throughout the afternoon, the volume of complaints continued above the daily average, but at a much slower pace than that observed in the late morning. The problem was reported in institutions such as Nubank, Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco, PicPay, Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil.
Despite the reports, the Central Bank, responsible for the implementation and management of Pix, denied any problems. Through the press office, the agency informed that the systems are working normally throughout the day.
Financial institutions themselves have confirmed problems in the Pix system. In a note, Nubank reported that “it regrets what happened and informs that operations are being normalized”. Bradesco reported that the application presented moments of “punctual intermittence” during the morning, but reported that the service was regularized.
Itaú Unibanco admitted having identified an instability in the transfer service, but reported having resolved the situation. “The process has now been reinstated, and will be back to normal for all customers as soon as possible. Itaú apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience,” the bank said.
