“Today we are honoring the Labor Law, Chávez’s sacrifice that restored us rights that are not in force anywhere in the region, but also Maduro who has insisted on maintaining that (rights). Maduro, above the circumstances, is on the side of the workers,” said the deputy for the PSUV Tania Díaz
According to Tania Diaz, deputy ruling party in the National Assembly (AN) 2020, the ruler Nicolás Maduro has been “stubborn” to follow the legacy of his predecessor, Hugo Chávez, in terms of guaranteeing the rights of Venezuelan workers. Despite the complaints from public administration workers of precarious salary and working conditions, the parliamentarian asserted that the president remains “at the side” of the citizens.
The declaration was made in the afternoon of Monday, May 1, during the official mobilization for Labor Day and while simultaneously, to the east of the city, officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) prevented the advance towards the Prosecutor’s Office mobilization called by dissident sectors to Maduro’s policies.
