On the afternoon of this Sunday, May 21, the prosecutor maintained that the citizen complaints that were known on Saturday the 20th for the felling of the tree in the middle of the construction of a commercial establishment were addressed. The neighbors referred to the work carried out by the company that is building a new store for the Traki chain.
“The Public Ministry, responding to the citizen complaint related to the alleged affectation of a saman, located in El Cigarral, El Hatillo municipality, verified that they complied with the protocols established through the technical accreditation granted by the Territorial Unit of Ecosocialism of the Capital District, of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, which authorized the removal and subsequent transplantation of said Saman on 2nd street of Parque Cigarral of that municipality,” said the attorney general.

Before the information offered by the prosecutor, on Saturday, May 20, the Mayor’s Office of El Hatillo distanced itself and argued that the situation of the saman “has been a matter dealt with directly between the construction company and the competent body, which in this case is the Ministry of Ecosocialism. The action has been authorized and executed following the instructions of specialists and under the supervision of the Ministry. Neither the Mayor’s Office of El Hatillo nor any of its entities authorized or has anything to do with the transfer of that tree.
