The number of transactions in shopping malls, supermarkets and self-services increased during the month of July, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).
Sales in supermarkets during the month of July totaled $26,092.2 million, which would represent an increase of 5.3%, he specified. INDEC, while in supermarkets they added a total of $4,692.8 million, which suggests an increase of 7.5%, according to the organism.
In the case of shopping malls, sales in July rose to $7,589.7 million, which means an increase of 46.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the INDEC.
Returning to supermarkets, the groups of items with most significant increases compared to the month of July of last year were: “Prepared foods and rotisserie”, with 101.7%; “Electronics and household items”, with 93.6%; “Perfume and cleaning articles”, with 88.6% and “Bakery”, 87.5%.
According to the employed personnel, the organism confirmed that in July 2022 there were 91,473 employees, of which 10,731 hold hierarchical positions. The latter represent 11.7% of all wage earners.
The sectors that led transactions at current prices of the different shopping centers were those of clothing, footwear and leather goods, which represented 38.1% of the total; followed by food court, food and kisocos, with 16.3%; then sports clothing and accessories, with 12.1% and electronics, appliances and computers, with 10.4% of the total.
Sales at current prices in different regions of the country
In the Greater Buenos Aires region (GBA), in 24 municipalities, total sales were $21,419.3 million, which is an increase of 190% compared to the same month the previous year.
Meanwhile, sales in the Cuyo area reached $4,871.3 million, an increase of 126.6% compared to July 2021.
For its part, the Pampas Region reached total sales of $14,534.2 million, which would be an increase of 144.8% in one year.
Continuing with the North zone, this had sales values of $3,703.1 million with percentage increases of 120.8%.
Finally, the Patagonia region obtained transactions for $2,974 million with increases of 149.3%.
