According to Diosdado Cabello, Chavismo does not have in its plans to annihilate NGOs

Cabello affirms that the opposition has said things that are not true about dialogue in Mexico

The deputy and first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, responded to the criticism received by the Draft Law on Inspection, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Related Organizations approved by the Parliament in first discussion. During his program Con el mazo dando, he assured that the norm, as soon as it comes into force, will establish clear rules on the operation of NGOs

The deputy of the National Assembly (AN) of 2020 Diosdado Cabello assured that Chavismo does not have in its plans to annihilate non-governmental organizations. The parliamentarian’s assertion responds to the criticisms received by the Bill for the Inspection, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Related Organizations that he presented to Parliament in the session of January 24 and which was approved, in first discussion, by evident majority.

“In Venezuela there is no law that regulates the issue of NGOs,” Cabello said on the night of Wednesday, January 25, on his program With the mallet giving, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV). He insisted on the thesis that NGOs are a financing mechanism for the United States to carry out operations against governments that are not related to it.

He is also the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (SUV) assured that the law, once it is approved and enters into force, will make the rules clear. He assured that “we will not eliminate any NGO. It’s not in our plans.”

He explained that when the norm is in force, NGOs must be duly registered and they will be supervised. He indicated that they will not be able to receive foreign financing.

“They are a whole conspiracy structure. We have to comply with the Constitution. I invite those who have NGOs to go to the consultation of this law », he added.

Cabello noted that he has received new lists of non-governmental organizations operating in Venezuela. He announced that even in the new document he was able to learn that the former president of the National Assembly in 2015 Juan Guaidó “gave them money” when he held the position of interim president of the country.

The AN-2020 approved the bill, in first discussion, in the ordinary session of January 24. Cabello was the one who made the presentation of the eventual norm to the plenary. During his explanatory statement, he argued that the initiative is a response to an “irregular situation” that has occurred in the country, “coincidentally with greater force” with the coming to power of the ruler Nicolás Maduro.

He assured that behind the NGOs there are faces and political parties and that if the names of the people who run them are reviewed “we will see that they are people who are like kings, who spend their time traveling.” The also first vice president of the PSUV branded these organizations as “appendages of organizations that operate to guarantee imperialism its operation throughout the world.”
