Aragón Carreño, congressman from Cusco for Popular Action, had been announced days ago by his bench as a possible candidate to succeed Lady Camones in the position, censored by the audios that he starred in with César Acuña.
“The bench has been atomized and divided, we wanted to unify the bench and to do so we had to find a congressman who has internal consensus, Aragón is the person who can achieve that consensus and he has achieved it […] we have 14 votes, with Aragón we are going to have the 14 votes of Popular Action”said Elvis Vergara.
With this nomination, there are already three candidates for the presidency of the Congress that will be defined in the plenary session on September 12.
Podemos Peru presented José Luis Elías Ávalos as its candidate, while Peru Libre did the same with Guido Bellido, former president of the Council of Ministers.
