In the accident of a Copsa bus that occurred on Thursday at kilometer 93 of the Interbalnearia route that caused the death of a 15-year-old girlthere were passengers who were unharmed, but they are “shocked”.
A passenger, named Felipe, recounted his experience. “It was very shocking, only today I am calmer after many painkillers. The images were very strong. The whole scene in general was catastrophic,” he told Underlined.
Felipe told chronologically how the journey took place. “At first I got on and everything was fine, I was in seat 28 and what actually happened was that I fell asleep and then got up to send my cousin the location to show her how I was getting there. And then when I woke up I realized that the bus was going too fast“, he detailed.
“I had never gone from being on a bus that was so fast and feeling so unprotected,” he recalled. He said the car “wobbled” and “three or four minutes later” the accident happened, he said.
“I remember when we headed for the shoulder. And I also remember the moment in which, I don’t know if it was shooting, we went to the other side, and rushing into other seats. Luckily I was very aware of all the blows and at each stroke I reminded myself that I was fine. When it was finally over, I touched my body and felt like it was very hot, but it was okay.“, he recalled.
There Felipe recounted that the “screams, cries and requests for help” began. “The first thing I thought was that he was fine and then in the person next to him who had his hand crushed by a type of iron. I tried to help but they couldn’t get it out until the fire department arrived with a cat“, he detailed.
“It was eternal and very short at the same time. The fall I couldn’t believe what it was. When I saw the whole route we did, that we fell to the shoulder, that we didn’t hit any car in the middle, that was very long. But then the exit got faster, there were many things happening at the same time. A mother with five children, an elderly couple, like everything (happened) at the same time“, he added.
In turn, Felipe told how he managed to get out of the bus. “The windows in the back were broken, so I got up little by little and was able to crawl out.”
