Accident in La Vega leaves at least 14 injured

At least 14 people, including 10 younger students of age, were injured this Monday afternoon after the collision between a school transport minibus and a garbage collection truck on the Jamo-Barranca highway section, in the municipality of La Vega.

The injured were transferred to different health centers from the area, as reported by authorities who provided first aid.

According to preliminary reports, the children were traveling in a Hyundai brand minibusplate I009734, driven by Kelvin Bienvenido García45 years old, when the collision occurred with a daihatsu trucklicense plate S011829, driven by Franklin Jesús Díaz, 34 years old. Both drivers were injured.

To date, it is unknown health status of the affected.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. while the students returned to their homes from their schools.
