Santo Domingo.– A strong traffic congestion was recorded this Thursday morning in the section that connects Padres Castellanos Avenue (old 17) with the V Centenario Express, in the East-West direction, after an accident in which a truck dropped part of the cargo it was transporting.
The incident caused a partial blockage of the elevatoror, after various materials were scattered on the road, significantly affecting the circulation in one of the busiest corridors in the Greater Santo Domingo.
Agents of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett) are on site regulating the vehicular flow and coordinating the debris removal efforts, with the aim of restoring the transit as soon as possible.

While work continues, Authorities urge drivers to take alternative routes to avoid further delays, until traffic is normalized in the area.
«We inform that our agents make Av. Expreso V Centenario viable in the East-West direction, where traffic is completely obstructed due to a truck losing its load. We ask drivers to drive with caution and use alternative routes,” Digesett published on its social networks along with a video showing the load scattered in the middle of the road.
