It reached 9 thousand people throughout the country through MIDES
The Head of the National Directorate of Territorial Management of the Ministry of Social Development highlighted the importance of this Socio-Labor Program, which has reached 9,000 people in its three editions.
The official told THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL which hopes that the next Government, which will take office on March 1, 2025, as well as the new authorities of the Ministry, will maintain and enhance Access.
“Always at the beginning of each edition we talk to the participants and inform them that it is a 7-month process, that they will be in different public organizations training, training and developing this phase of work in different institutions, with different teams and with colleagues. and that we are going to see each other again at the end of the process and that that is going to be a very important day because without a doubt it will mean an achievement to have gotten there, to have sustained employment, to have been trained. Today we meet again precisely for that, in what for us is a moment of celebration beyond that for them. –the beneficiaries- “It is undoubtedly a day of mixed feelings because it is the end of something, but it is also the beginning of something else.” express Carolina Murphy.
NEW TOOLS AND BETTER OPPORTUNITIES
“Since the close of each edition, participants have new tools and that generates better opportunities. Today they have a resume, today they can actually make a resume that has more training courses, that has the passage through the different public institutions, the evaluation of their Bosses. In many cases it even includes a letter of recommendation from those who were working with them. That undoubtedly makes a difference when searching for jobs.” said.
“This is what Access is about, generating tools and opportunities for the construction of autonomy” stressed the Head of the DNGT of MIDES. “It is a social policy that always seeks to be a springboard and not an anchor” accurate.
Murphy said that each of the beneficiaries completed this stage with a much higher degree of preparation. “They went through courses on different things. Furthermore, in each department, and Cerro Largo is no exception, the work of the departmental team must be highlighted. At Federico Pica, who is the Director, and at María Pía Cuadrado, who is the Head of the Office, we want to highlight the work of the entire team because Accesos is a Program that has a strong decentralizing component, allowing different adaptations to be made in each department according to to the departmental reality” reported. “That is in the hands of each of the departmental teams” he added.
GOOD LEVELS OF JOB INSERTION
“Before the Labor Integration Programs that MIDES had, the beneficiaries received a benefit during their development, but the next day they were left with nothing” he remembered.
“Accesses were generated the next day through agreements with companies that are sponsor companies that through a small tax exemption, many times it is not even for that but to build a better society, they contribute by taking these participants who they know have been there for 7 months under monitoring of the Ministry already working in these public organizations. We also commit to monitoring these participants for 3 more months.” revealed the Head of Territorial Management of MIDES.
“Last year was the 2nd Edition of Accesses, now we are closing the 3rd but for the previous one we had set a goal of 15% job placement and in the case of Cerro Largo the numbers are very close to that objective” he assured.
“Although there are always things to improve, the challenge for subsequent Administrations will be to continue meeting the goal and continue generating tools and opportunities” he stated.
Each Edition of the Program has had 3,000 participants nationwide, therefore the total number of people benefiting is now 9,000 throughout the country. “There are 9,000 opportunities for a better quality of life” summarized Carolina Murphy.
