Academic Excellence Scholarship for children of teachers: Since when to apply and what are the requirements?

The National Scholarship and Educational Credit Program (Pronabec) of the Ministry of Education (Minedu) launched the Academic Excellence Scholarship for Children of Teachers, call 2022. Find out who it is for, when to apply and what are the requirements to participate in the contest .

Who can apply?

The contest is directed to sons and daughters of the teachers of the Public Teaching Career (CPM) so that they can study with State scholarships for a career at a university, institute or schoolwithin the framework of Law No. 29944, Teacher Reform Law.

In this new edition, a total of 400 full scholarships will be awarded in strict order of merit. Therefore, young people must prove high academic performance in the last two grades of school and have entered or be studying at a university, school or institute, venue and career eligible for this contest.

It considers young people who have started higher education even before their completion (antepenultimate cycle in semester careers or penultimate year in annual careers) and those who have not yet begun their higher education.

Contest Stages

The contest will take place in two stages: preselection Y selection.

• The first stage will the pre-selection of the contestants and will take place from May 23 to July 4, 2022. At this stage, the Pronabec National Examination (ENP) will be resumed, which will help measure the mathematical and verbal reasoning skills of the applicants.
• Then it will go to the selection stage that will take place from July 5 to August 12, 2022.

Requirements to participate in the pre-selection phase:

• Peruvian nacionality.
• Have, at most, the date of the publication of the bases (twenty May 2022) up to 22 years of age.
• Being the son of a teacher who is part of the CPM (includes teachers dismissed due to age limit, permanent disability and death).
• Having completed secondary school in Regular Basic Education (EBR) or Alternative Basic Education (EBA) or Special Basic Education (EBE). The studies must be recognized by the Ministry of Education.
• Accredit high academic performance. Upper third in the last two completed grades of secondary school. This requirement is already accredited for students or graduates of High Performance Colleges (COAR).
• Submission of affidavits and formats generated by the Application Module for pre-selection.

What are the benefits of the scholarship?

For the winners, the Peruvian State will finance the entire race until its completion. Among the benefits are the cost of tuition and tuition, mandatory expenses to obtain the degree and/or respective title, accommodation (when applicable), food, local mobility, academic leveling (when applicable), among others.

In the 2022 call, as in previous editions, applicants with full registration in the Selection Stage will have access to the Support and Orientation Platform (PAO).
