The Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas) classified as “Advance” the package presented on Wednesday (13) by the Federal Government of relief to Brazilian companies impaired by the US tariff.
According to Abrafrutas, the measures announced are aligned with the demands of the entity.
“The opening of R $ 30 billion in lines of credit, the extension of deadlines in the Drawback [regime aduaneiro especial]the deferral of taxes and the granting of specific tax credits for exporters are aligned with some of the claims already presented by the entity, ”says the association’s note.
Abrafrutas also considered positive initiatives that increase access to export credit insurance and the possibility of public purchases for the absorption of affected production“Measure that may mitigate some of the immediate losses.”
Small producers
The entity stressed, however, that the set of actions presented Still fully contemplates the fruit chain of fruit growing.
“The small producer, who markets his production to exporting companies, is in danger of being helpless, since the instruments announced directly prioritize the direct exporter. No measures that actually reach production, there is a risk of retraction in purchases and injury to income and permanence of these producers in the field.”
The federal government launched on Wednesday a package of measures to support the productive sector affected by the 50% tariff imposed by the United States government. The support plan provides for R $ 30 billion in credit and will be made possible through a provisional measure.
Resources for help measures will come through Extraordinary Credit to the Budgetused in emergency situations outside the fiscal framework limit. This system was used last year to help the victims of floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
