Abraciclo: motorcycle industry grows 18.7% until November 2022

Motorcycle production has best accumulated for July since 2015

The production of motorcycles at the Industrial Pole of Manaus – PIM reached 129,216 units in November, a figure 5.9% lower compared to October (137,346 motorcycles) and 13.6% higher than that recorded in the same month of last year (113,776 units) . In the accumulated result for the year, 1,328,105 units were manufactured, an increase of 18.7% compared to the same period in 2021 (1,118,790 units), according to data from the Brazilian Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers, Mopeds, Scooters, Bicycles and Similar (Abraciclo).Abraciclo: motorcycle industry grows 18.7% until November 2022

The president of Abraciclo, Marcos Fermanian, said that the production volume is within the plan and that the expectation of manufacturing 1,420,000 motorcycles should be reached. “After a troubled first two months due to cases of the Ômicron variant, the manufacturing units have resumed the rhythm of the assembly lines and production has been growing to meet market demand”.

Fermanian stated that the motorcycle segment should remain heated after the positive results and growth of the segment this year. “We believe that the demand for the motorcycle should continue to rise in 2023. Many Brazilians find an agile vehicle in the modal, with lower maintenance costs and with greater ease of acquisition”, he said.

According to the monthly survey, in November 123,214 units were sold, an increase of 2.4% compared to October (120,273 units). Compared to the same month last year, there was an increase of 15.8% compared to the 106,442 motorcycles registered in the period. In the accumulated result for the year, 1,229,737 units were sold, an increase of 17.7% compared to the same period last year (1,044,413 motorcycles).

Exports totaled 3,695 motorcycles in November, down 8.7% compared to October 2022 (4,047 units). Compared to the same month last year (3,246 motorcycles), there was a 13.8% increase. In the accumulated result for the year, 51,412 units were shipped abroad, which represents an increase of 2.4% when compared to the result for the same period in 2021 (50,193 motorcycles).
