More than 6,000 passengers on the Huancayo – Lima route, in addition to hundreds of buses and cargo vehicles who were stranded, were affected by the almost two days of strike that the peasant community of San Francisco de Asís, in Morococha, Yauli province, accepted.

After reaching commitments to listen to their list of claims, the measure was lifted yesterday afternoon and the sale of tickets resumed normally at the Huancayo Terminal.
Agreements. Among the agreements that were made, to lift the measure, is the priority of jobs and training that the Chinalco mining company must give, to the community members of San Francisco de Asís; mediate before the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, the demands of the unions of workers of the Austria Duvaz and Argentum mining companies to avoid the collective dismissal of the workers; comply with the social responsibility of the Chinalco, Argentum, Duvaz and Volcán mining companies in terms of education and health for mothers and children in the area; and review the agreement signed with Chinalco on the use of the Viscas land. Following these agreements, the measure was lifted.

In Huancayo, the sale of tickets at the terminal to the Capital resumed normally. “Since yesterday I have been waiting for a car. I have to travel urgently because my sister is getting married and here (Huancayo) we buy everything,” said Soraida Alba. The price of night tickets was S/60 by bus while by car it reached S/100.
