Santo Domingo. On the first day of entry into force of the “Parquéate RD” program, about 40 drivers in the exclusive Naco sector received RD $ 5,000 fines for parking in not allowed areas.
While the population continues to complain with the turns to the left where phase III is now implemented in Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill and Máximo Gómez avenues, this initiative is not to the liking of the drivers, which claim that the first thing is to establish public parking at module prices to park.
This Monday when the disposition that is part of the “RD is moved”, which promotes the Government through the National Institute of Terrestrial Transit and Transportation and other entities, 11 or 13 infractions in the morning, and the rest was generated from noon.
José Cedeño, director of “Park yourself RD”, meant that the measure was announced in advance and invited drivers to respect traffic signs because intention is not to mistreat or tow the vehicles to anyone, but people become aware of improving mobility.
“Everything marched as we planned, we remember that we last a month by advertising the measure, and asking them not to do so, because from day four the control began to all the people who violated the willingness to park in prohibited places and we had to tow about forty vehicles,” said Cedeño.
He informed that the infractions were recorded in the different streets of the central polygon, and the units are being taken to the vehicle detention center 27 February, located between the Winston Churchill and Doctor Defiló.
“We hope that no citizen has to take his vehicle, what we want is to respect the law so as not to have to incur the citizen discomfort,” he said after advancing that they project to expand the pilot plan to other places, but first they have to study what they should improve.
RD $ 5,000 of fines equals a thousand pesos per infraction and 4 thousand concerning the operating expenses for vehicle trailer.
