Colombia.- President Luis Abinader will meet this Sunday, separately, with his outgoing counterpart from Colombia, Iván Duque, and the elected president of that nation, Gustavo Petro, before the transmission of command, as part of the activities on his agenda in the South American country.
The Dominican president will meet with his Colombian counterpart at 10:00 in the morning, Colombian time, at the Casa de Nariño, seat of the government of that nation.
An hour later, he will hold a meeting with Petro, who will assume the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia in a ceremony scheduled for 3:00 in the afternoon, time in that country. The meeting will be at the Palacio de San Carlos, headquarters of the Colombian Foreign Ministry.
A meeting between the Dominican leader and the interim executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Mario Cimoli, is scheduled for 12:00 noon.
At 2:30 in the afternoon, the reception of the Dominican Head of State in the Plaza de Bolívar by the presidents of the Senate of the Republic and of the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia is scheduled to be taken to the room designated for Heads of State and / or of Government, until the moment of going to the inauguration ceremony, at 3:00 in the afternoon.
At 5:45 in the afternoon, the Dominican president will give official greetings to his Colombian counterpart Gustavo Petro; the first lady, Verónica Alcocer García; the Vice President of Colombia, France Elena Márquez Mina and Álvaro Leyva Durán, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In all these activities, President Abinader will be accompanied by the Dominican Foreign Minister, Roberto Álvarez; the Dominican ambassador in Colombia, Julio Cordero and his daughter Esther Abinader.
The delegation of the Dominican president is completed by the deputy director of the Specialized Presidential Security Corps (Cusep), General Jimmy Arias, ERD; and his assistants, Eilyn Beltrán and Mercedes Pichardo.
