Abinader travels to the UN on Sunday

Abinader revela que recibió peticiones desde EE.UU. para acoger refugiados haitianos

NEW YORK. President Luis Abinader will travel to this city this Sunday to participate in the 79th United Nations Assembly (UN) and will speak on Tuesday 24th where he will once again address the Haitian issue and democracy in Venezuela.

The crisis and instability in Haiti will be a recurring and main theme in his latest appearances at the UN, where he has always advocated for the dispatch of a multinational force.

Prior to his participation in the assembly, the president will hold several activities in this city with leaders of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).

On Monday, Abinader will hold his La Semanal meeting with the Press from that city.

The president will travel accompanied by his wife Raquel Arbaje and a delegation headed by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and the head of the Presidential Security Corps (CUSEP), General Jimmy Arias Grullón.

At the meeting, countries will review the fight against drug trafficking, crime prevention, disarmament and the fight against international terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The promotion of justice and international law, effective coordination of humanitarian assistance activities, promotion of human rights, maintenance of peace and security.

The first time that the Dominican president, Luis Abinader, participated in the UN Assembly virtually in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
