Santo Domingo.-The president Luis Abinader supervised this Saturday the cleaning of the Gurabo stream, in Santiago, which is carried out with an investment of 1.5 billion pesos and will impact almost one million Dominicans.
The president described the work as one of the most important in the country, together with the ravines intervened in different parts of the national territory through the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewerage (Inapa) and in Greater Santo Domingo by the CAASD.
“For example, the Guajimía ravine also has a huge impact on Santo Domingo Oeste and part of the Haina River. We are doing almost 50 km of cleanup of ravines throughout the country,” said Abinader.

The president added that the Gurabo ravine is the one that strongly impacts an urban community, unlike the others.
He said that for this reason they are supporting the work that will be of benefit to the area.
The head of state, together with the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, also supervised the reconstruction work on the retaining wall on Las Carreras avenue.
Prior to supervising the sanitation of the stream, he held a private meeting with deputies from the province, at the Gran Almirante hotel, if the deal with the legislators of the Lower House did not come to light.
The President supervised it together with the director of Inapa, Wellington Arnaud.
Arnaud stated that this is the work with the greatest social and environmental impact that the Dominican Government is building.
“Today with the visit of our President, supervising the works that are going from strength to strength and at full sail, once again the interest of President Luis Abinader is given that the works of a social nature that impact on the improvement of the quality of people’s lives are a priority in their government,” said the official.
In addition to supervising the stream, Abinader delivered two baseball fields in Gurabo and La Emboscada and supervised retaining walls on Las Carreras avenue, Santiago.
