Santo Domingo.-The president Louis Abinader supervised this Saturday the housing reconstruction work in San Rafael de Yuma, La Otra Banda and Verón, affected by Hurricane Fiona, in the province of La Altagracia.
In Higüey, Abinader visited the La Florida and Los Platanitos sectors. The head of state again asked the communities to join the reconstruction work to move forward in the areas affected by the atmospheric phenomenon.
During his tour, the president refused to talk about the Haitian issue.
Samana and Nagua
The administrative minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, returned yesterday for the fourth time to the provinces of Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez to supervise the retrofitting work after the passage of Hurricane Fiona.
In María Trinidad Sánchez, he delivered funds to the mayor’s office for the purchase of 13 compactor trucks for an amount that exceeds 30 million pesos.

At the structural level, in the María Trinidad Sánchez province, more than 350 affected homes have been intervened; the works continue in localities such as Arroyo al Medio, Boba and Río Mar where the houses suffered serious damage.
Paliza also visited the San Miguel Chapel in the municipal district of Arroyo al Medio, affected by the atmospheric phenomenon, and there he made a contribution to improve its reconstruction.
During his visit to the northeast of the country, the administrative minister toured Samaná, where he was able to verify that to date more than 2,000 of the 3,600 affected homes have been intervened, and in addition, about 24,000 raw food rations and 27 thousand cooked.
