The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader

President Luis Abinader led this Saturday the opening ceremony for the start of the construction of a Multipurpose Center in the Ensanche Isabelita and 11 police detachments that will contribute to strengthening the citizen security policy.

The detachments that will be built are; Punta torrecilla, Maquiteria, Los Tres Ojos, Valiente, Las Acacias de Invivienda, Urbanización Italia, El Pensador, Las Lilas, Villa Liberación, Cruce de Guerra, Cancino Adentro, Hainamosa, El Almirante, El Tamarindo, Ensanche Ozama and the emblematic detachment, Happiness.

The president of the Presidential Commission to Support Provincial Development, Ángel de la Cruz, reported that the Isabelita Ensanche Softball Playground is also being built, which is more than 70% advanced. Also, work is being done on the construction of the field on the Ozama river, by order of the president.

De la Cruz defined the President of the Republic as an exceptional citizen and the most efficient administrator of public funds in the recent history of the Dominican State.

He affirmed that Abinader is the citizen most connected with the citizens that the government has, an example of humility for each official and is leading a reform, a refoundation of the country.

He pointed out that with the beginning of this multipurpose, not only different promises are honored, but President Abinader continues to consistently fulfill an accumulated social debt that exists in the social base of the Dominican Republic.

He stated that this neighborhood, the cradle of sportsmen and women dedicated to promoting the development of the country, has been the scene of intense economic, cultural and sports activity.

“Today the President of the Republic not only pushes the prevention policy, because investing in sports, investing in youth, means investing in crime prevention and in strengthening a better society,” he said.

An emergency job

The mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, thanked President Abinader for the work and said that it was urgent for the youth of this sector.

Jiménez stated that this municipality is a challenge due to its social debts, its size and the space it occupies and at the same time it is privileged because it has found a president who is suffering and understanding of the needs and social debts of this demarcation.

He explained that the challenge is to turn Santo Domingo Este into a city, for which he has not rested for a moment to achieve it and for this he has had the support of President Abinader.

The blessing of the act was in charge of the parish priest of the Santa Catalina church, Leocadio Cruz.

Supervise road works

Subsequently, the president, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, made supervision visits to the progress of the elevated bridge of Andrés, Boca Chica; as well as the large road projects carried out by the Ministry of Public Works on La Ecológica, Hípica and San Isidro avenues.

The high of Andrés Boca Chica comprises a length of 418 meters. This work translates into safety and quality of life for the Santo Domingo province, which currently houses 3.5 million inhabitants, of which more than 150 thousand people live near the road.

The head of state said that the Andrés Boca Chica section was the one with the greatest accidents in the country, that is why since he came to the government he paid attention to finish it and thus eliminate the accidents that for so many years mourned many families in the area.

In this sense, the president announced that the elevated bridge will be ready by May, and the marginal ones by the end of the year.

“It is a great work, which will facilitate the transit to the East,” said President Abinader.

The traffic distributor, which is part of the Las Americas Highway Rehabilitation and Expansion project, will improve vehicular flow and allow a significant reduction in accidents on the 10-kilometer stretch of road between the toll station and the community of Boca Chica.

During his supervision visit to the Ecological and Horse Riding road works, the head of state made a brief tour of the El Pasivo Municipal Ecological Park.

The extension of the Ecological Avenue will communicate from the Santo Domingo ring road, which ends at the Autovía del Nordeste, and from there it will be able to move to the Caucedo Multimodal Port, which will be the third phase of the ring road.

It will also connect the Multimodal Port or the Las Américas highway with this part of the Santo Domingo province.

Likewise, he toured the construction of the Hípica avenue, which runs from the San Isidro Air Base to the Mella highway.

Likewise, the works to widen the highway to San Isidro or Colonel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez avenue will contribute in a very effective way to the housing development that has been taking place in all these areas.

Development Council

President Abinader’s agenda also included a lunch with the Development Council, with representatives from all sectors of society, at the Golden House Hotel.

The activity was carried out with the aim of reviewing the actions that have been coordinated, as well as the development plans and projects of the Santo Domingo province.

The activities were attended by the Minister without Portfolio, Geanilda Vásquez; the governor of Santo Domingo, Julia Drullard; the senator, Antonio Taveras Guzmán; the general directors of Passports, Néstor Julio Cruz Pichardo, and of INFOTEP, Rafael Santos Badia.

Also, the deputies, Adalgisa Abreu, Kenya Bidó, José -Bertico- Santana, Juan José Rojas, José Liz, Dulce Quiñones, Alexis Jiménez, Betty Geronimo and María Suárez.
