Six more units of pipes will also be replaced by concrete sewers, in order to increase discharge capacity.

In addition to the aforementioned works, the sanitation of more than 500 linear meters of the town’s river and the Panchita ravine stands out, which will consist of the removal of sludge, solid waste and sediment, reprofiling of the sections and embedding of some sections, to expand the sections of the channels and improve the water conduction.

President inaugurates weighing station and highlights investment to preserve the environment

Similarly, when presiding over the activity of the weighing station, the head of state highlighted the investment in these 22 months of government for the execution of projects aimed at the preservation of the environment.

When inaugurating a solid waste weighing station in Samaná, he cited the intervention of 11 landfills with an investment of about 500 million pesos and five weighing stations, two of which will be delivered in the coming days.

He highlighted the intervention of 29 kilometers of ravines by the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (Caasd) in these 22 months of management and stated that before 2020 only 6 kilometers were intervened.

He said that in Santiago they work in the Gurabo ravine, which is responsible for the contamination of 35 percent of the Yaque del Norte River.

In the intervention carried out by the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewage (Inapa) and the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Ciraasan), 1,200 million pesos are invested between the intervention of the canyon and the transfer of the people who live in vulnerability zones near the ravine.

He stressed that in order to continue carrying out works for the benefit of the protection of the environment and groundwater in the country, Inapa’s budget was quintupled by taking it from less than 2,000 million to take it to about 11,000 million, to which are added the collections of that entity.

Weigh Station

The solid waste weighing station inaugurated in the La Guada sector, Samaná, executed by the General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (Propeep), is number three put into operation in the current administration. On the day, some 2,500 citizens received the services of the National Disability Councils (Conadis), the Aging Person (Conape), National Health Service (SNS), the National Health Insurance (Senasa), the national institutes for Early Childhood Care (Inaipi), Price Stabilization (Inespre) and the State Economic Kitchens.

Also the Vocational Schools of the Armed Forces and the National Police, the Program for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) and the Technological Institutes of the Americas (Itla) and the National Professional Technical Training Institute (Infotep).

Cards are delivered Supérate

Hotel Hacienda Samana Bay

About 800 jobs will be generated with the opening of the first phase of the residential-tourist Hacienda Samaná Bay with 120 apartments, whose total investment will exceed US$100 million by the company INDEBAY.

Hacienda Samaná Bay HSB covers a total of 200,000 m2 of land and will have more than 400 homes developed in different phases.
