The president Luis Abinader revealed this Monday several of the adjustments that the Government will make after withdrawing the tax reform from the National Congress, to capture the 122 billion that had been contemplated in the bill.
The president said that, as part of these arrangements, they are completing the construction works and “being careful to keep the level of debt under control.”.
Abinader, who spoke during the development of La Semanal con la Prensa, in the National Palace, noted that after the withdrawal of the project the Government does not have a new proposal.
The president also referred to the high levels of tax evasion that exist in the country. «We are increasing (the fight against evaders); we are working. “That is a theft from the State,” he said.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Presidency, Homero Figueroa, said during an interview on a radio program that regarding the project the population “it was closed” and did not perceive the benefits of the piece.
Meanwhile, almost all productive sectors and opposition parties welcomed Abinader’s decision to withdraw the tax reform, considering that it did not contain the best proposals in favor of citizens.
