Santo Domingo – President Luis Abinader arrived in the country at 5:00 p.m. this Sunday from Miami, Florida.
The president traveled to the US city to throw out the first ball in the game in which the Dominican Republic faced Venezuela in their first commitment of the World Baseball Classic.
The Dominican ruler became the first head of state to throw the first ball in the history of the sports fair in which teams from 20 countries compete.
The ruler was accompanied on his trip by the first lady Raque Arbaje; the head of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep), Jimmy Arias Grullón and his special assistant Eylin Beltrán.
Upon arrival at the San Isidro air terminal, the president and his companions were received by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa; the commander of the First Dominican Presidential Guard Regiment, Brigadier General Guillermo Caro Cruz and the Deputy Commander of the Dominican Republic Air Force, Paratrooper Brigadier General Mauricio L. Fernández García.
