Abinader reiterates citizen security is a priority of his Government

Santo Domingo. – The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, He assured this Wednesday that the strengthening of citizen security is a priority in his administration of Government.

With the aim of continuing to strengthen citizen security in the country, the president led the delivery of 130 motorcycles, out of a total of 370, made by the National System of Attention to Emergencies and Security 9-1-1 to the National Police, in the headquarters of the institution.

At the end of the delivery, the president assured that the strengthening of citizen security is a priority of his government administration.

“We continue to equip not only transportation equipment, but also other modern equipment to strengthen citizen security, which as you know is a priority of the Government of the Dominican Republic,” Abinader emphasized.

Subsequently, the head of state led a meeting with the Higher Police Council, held in the National Police Officers’ Room.

This first batch of motorcycles delivered are equipped with the Global Positioning System (GPS).

During his visit to the headquarters of the institution of order, President Abinader was accompanied by the Ministers of the Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez Martínez; from the Presidency, Joel Santos; the general director of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then and the executive director of the 9-1-1 System, pilot colonel, Randolfo Rijo Gómez.

At the end of the delivery ceremony, the Minister of the Presidency and President of the National Council of the 9-1-1 System, Joel Santos Echavarría, stressed that the purpose of this first delivery, which will be made in three games, is the immediate incorporation of these motorcycles in the system of quadrants of the National Police for the benefit of all citizens.

«What motorcycles come to bring is much greater agility to reduce response times, which is an important issue in this process. In general terms, it is a joint effort to continue strengthening the service to the citizenry of a service as important as 9-1-1 and clearly an important issue for this Government, as is the case of citizen security,” Santos Echavarría highlighted.

The National Police, as the response institution of the 9-1-1 System, was highlighted by the entity’s executive director, pilot colonel, Randolfo Rijo Gómez, as a strategic ally, who has a transcendental and indispensable function for assistance security events and critical situations reported by users.

“With the delivery of these motorcycles, 9-1-1 is supporting the National Police in the new quadrant system, the area of ​​Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago will be reinforced this Christmas, that is why an effort was made to deliver of these units before the Christmas holiday, precisely to reinforce those areas,” said Rijo Gómez.

In the 9-1-1 System, the National Police contributes to the resolution of events that have occurred in the 25 provinces where this free public service operates, evidenced in the 468,183 emergency procedures assigned to the entity, from January to September. Of current year.

During the delivery, headed by the nation’s president, pilot lieutenant colonel Harold Jiménez Polanco, ERD, deputy director of the 9-1-1 System, was also present.
