Santo Domingo. – In an act held in the August 16 campthe president Luis Abinader a flotilla of 183 vehicles to the different branches of the Armed forceswith the aim of strengthening the security and national defense.
The endowment included 51 Double Cab, 25 trucks, 94 motorcycles, four vans, three minibuses, two buses, two van trucks, two Four Wheels and a load drone intended for the specialized disaster mitigation body.
These units will improve the mobility of soldiers, optimize patrol in difficult access areas and strengthen security operations throughout the country.

Abinader: “Fuerted Armed Forces guarantee a strong state”
The president stressed the importance of continuing to modernize military institutionsensuring that his government maintains strategic relations with allied countries to strengthen the operational capacity of the Dominican Republic.
«Our armed forces advance in professionalization, equipment and strengthening of their staff. We continue in contact with great magnitude armies to consolidate our defensive capacity, ”said Abinader.
In reference to the situation of Haiti, he stressed that the country must be prepared before any scenario: «Other states have made migratory decisions, and we must also continue to reinforce our security. No one can question the actions we take to defend the integrity and peace of our territory ».

A strategic investment for national defense
The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofrestressed that since August 2020 the Armed Forces have received 934 vehiclesincreasing its operational capacity in More than 300%. In addition, he emphasized that the adaptation of these units was made by military technicians, reducing costs in More than 40%.

The new units will be distributed among the Army, Navy and Air Forceas well as in the specialized defense bodies, including:
- Cesfront (Earth’s border security)
- CESAC (Airport Security)
- CESEP (Port Security)
- Cemed (Emergency and Disaster Mitigation)
Military industry and logistics strengthening
Abinader announced that after the month of April a National Military Industrywith the objective of supply armed forces more efficiently and guarantee the security of the country with its own production and supplies.

In addition, during the ceremony a demonstration of the DJI Flycart 30 load dronedesigned to transport up to 30 kg of supplies In remote areas and difficult to access, optimizing logistics in rescue and patrol operations.
With this delivery, the Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening national security and defense, guaranteeing that the Armed Forces have the necessary resources to face any challenge.
