Santo Domingo. – The president Luis Abinader This Saturday he continued his agenda of christmas lunches with different sectors of the country. On this occasion, he shared with officers and soldiers of the Dominican Republic Navy and Air Forcewhom he thanked for the service they provide to the nation, especially in the fight against drug trafficking and the border protection.
During the lunch held at the Navy headquartersthe president highlighted the work carried out by sailors in the defense of the coasts and received a recognition prepared by the Dominican Military Industryin gratitude for his support of the institution and the loyalty shown to his investiture.
“We thank them for their work, their dedication and their defense of the homeland, because when we show the number of seizures due to drug trafficking, we receive congratulations, and that is due in large part to the specialized work of the Navy, which defends the quality of life of our people and protects the country from these criminal actions,” said the head of state.
Likewise, when having lunch with the soldiers of the Air ForcePresident Abinader recalled that these meetings have become a traditionwith the aim of reaffirming the pride that the Government feels for the work carried out in defense of the homelandreflected in a climate of peace and harmony which is admired by other nations.
“Thank you for your work, for protecting the country from the border and for your action against criminal acts,” he emphasized.
The president also reaffirmed his commitment to continue improving the living conditions of military personnel and institutional equipment.
At the activity, the president was accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofreas well as other senior military commanders of the aforementioned military institutions.
