Dubai, United Arab Emirates.– The president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinaderdeveloped an intense bilateral agenda aimed at strengthening the country’s strategic positioning in key areas such as commerce, economy and digital transformationwhen holding meetings with the presidents of Paraguay, Santiago Peñaand of Ecuador, Daniel Noboaas well as with the Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabiwithin the framework of the World Governments Summit 2026.
During the meeting with the Paraguayan president, Abinader talked about the possibility of using the logistics hub of the Dominican Republic as a platform for Paraguay to export its agricultural products to other international markets.
Meanwhile, in the bilateral meeting with the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, both heads of state addressed the common interest of expand and strengthen bilateral economic relations.

Subsequently, the Dominican president met with the Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, and with Ali Mohamed Hamad Al ShamsiUAE Special Envoy for Latin America. In this space they reviewed the investments it maintains DP World (Dubai Ports) in the Dominican Republic.
Likewise, they discussed a Government to Government cooperation protocolthrough which the United Arab Emirates could advise the Dominican Republic on digital technology and innovation.
In the bilateral meetings, President Abinader was accompanied by the ministers of Finance and Economy, Magín Díaz; of Housing and Buildings, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó; José Rafael Abinader Corona; the vice minister of Planning and Public Investment, Luis Madera Sued; the executive director of Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), Biviana Riveiroand the Dominican ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Renso Antonio Herrera Franco.
On the part of Ecuador, the delegation was made up of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Sariha Moya; the general secretary of Communication from the Presidency, Irene Vélez; the Ecuadorian ambassador to the UAE, Felipe Ribadeneiraand the Undersecretary General of Office, Emilia Reece.
While the Paraguayan delegation was made up of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Francisco Javier Giménez; the executive secretary of the Management Unit, minister Marianna Saldivar; the vice minister of Foreign Relations, ambassador Víctor Alfredo Verdún Bitarand the Paraguayan ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Carolin Konther.
