“He was a gentleman of politics”, as defined this Saturday by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, the late Secretary General ad vitam of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Reinaldo Pared Péred.
Upon his arrival at the Blandino funeral home on Abraham Linconln Avenue, the head of state stressed that Pared Pérez was a firm man in his political ideals and very respectful who never entered into personal disputes.
“Not only the PLD loses a great leader but also the political community.
The president arrived at the Blandino around seven at night this Saturday.
Pared Pérez died Thursday night at his residence in Juan Dolio.
On March 25, 2020, he revealed that he had a tumor in his esophagus and that he will begin treatment in the United States. The surgical intervention was performed at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
The intervention was after receiving chemotherapy treatment.
Reinaldo Pared Pérez was a member of the PLD since 1975. He served as councilor in the National District City Council from 1986 to 1994.
He was also a deputy between the periods 1996-1998 and 1998-2002. He was president of the Chamber of the Senate of the Republic in 2006-2020
Pared Pérez was married to Mrs. Ingrid Mendoza, with whom he had two: María del Pilar and Andrés Arturo. He is also the father of Reinaldo and Melinee Pared Suazo, children from a previous marriage.
His brothers are former director of the National Department of Investigations, Siegfried, Carlos and Rienzi Pared Pérez.
