Santo Domingo.- As part of the proposal for the restructuring of the Public Administration, President Luis Abinader proposes eliminate some public entities.
With this measure the Head of State seeks suppress institutions whose reason for being no longer exists or whose functions can be assumed by other organizations, more efficiently.
This is what the merger of the Ministries of Education implies in the reform of Public Spending
President Luis Abinader indicated this Monday in La Semanal con la Prensa that this proposal is part of the Public Spending reform, which is a component of the tax reform.
He explained that these measures involve a sacrifice, however, it also constitutes an adaptation that results in effectiveness and efficiency.
«It has to come as a reform too tax. This goes and is obviously insufficient for the reforms that we have to make, but it is a formula that the Government also has to do its part in terms of efficiency and effectiveness and for To achieve this there are also sacrifices of variation“, the president explained.
He also clarified that these are the most important measures to be taken to make spending more efficientalthough there is a possibility that some institutions will be eliminated in the future, but to a lesser extent.
Among these eliminations are the Savings Bank for Workers and Monte de Piedad, the Sectoral Commission for the Reform and Modernization of the Agricultural Sector, the Dominican Development Council Abroad (CONDEX), the National Council of Population and Family and the Presidential Commission for Port Modernization and Security.
Likewise, the Business Commission for Mortgage and Trust Development, the International Advisory Commission on Science and Technology and the National Directorate for the Promotion and Development of Crafts (FONDEARTE).
