The Dominican Government chaired by Luis Abinader, the Ministry of Youth and the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) launched the “Agropecuarios del Mañana” program, which benefited 500 young people with an amount of around RD$15 million pesos in support of agricultural and livestock projects with the aim of benefiting more than 300,000 young entrepreneurs throughout the country.
Abinader led the activity together with the youth minister, Rafael Jesus Feliz Garcia and the director of FEDA, Hecmilio Galván held in the Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deño Amphitheater Square of this province within the framework of the Entrepreneurship and Youth Fair organized by the Ministry of Youth, with the assistance of hundreds of young entrepreneurs.
The head of Youth highlighted this program, which he said will benefit Dominican youth in rural areas and will contribute to the development of the Dominican countryside.

“With the technical support of Feda and the Ministry of Youth, the rural youth will have all the tools to undertake and become a “Farmer of Tomorrow”, said Féliz García.
“It is a project for which, both in youth and in Feda. We have been working hard and organizing for months. It has been a task in which we have invested our whole hearts; and with a well-defined goal: to always seek the well-being of the Dominican youth”, he continued saying.
On his side, Hecmilio Galván, director of FEDA, expressed his “pride” regarding the program, whose fruits will begin to be seen in a short time.
“This plan will articulate young people with leadership and make them coordinators of groups between 50 and 100 young entrepreneurs in different areas in their own communities in the areas of services, production, not only in agriculture but in any area that young people wish to undertake,” Galvan said.
In turn, he described how this design will influence the population. “The idea of the program is to support young people to excel and in it we will integrate at least 3,000 leaders who will coordinate these groups and will also become true democratic, hard-working, honest, responsible and committed leaders,” added the director of Feda.
Deliveries
During the activity, some 500 young people were benefited with the delivery of sheep, goats, Brazilian dwarf coconut plants, small sheep, rabbit and goat farms, among others. As well as support tools for the planting and cultivation of agricultural products and 50 shredders, are part of the benefits of this plan with an investment of more than RD$ 15 million.
Also in attendance were the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; the minister of agriculture, Limber Cruz; the administrator of Banco Agricola, Fernando Durán; the director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD), Guillermo Garcia; the provincial governor, Elvira Corporan, the mayoress of San Juan, Hanoy Sanchez; Deputy Frank Ramírez; the director of the National Institute for Price Stabilization (INESPRE), Iván Hernández, among others.
Program objective
“Farmers of Tomorrow” seeks to organize the country’s young leaders in all areas and all provinces. Form and capitalize a social relay for the country.
The impact on young people will be with the donation of “seed capital”, microcredits, technical consultancies, professional technical training, educational scholarships, coaching and cultural activities, whose interests are to carry out their entrepreneurship in a business line within the range of breeding, always and agricultural production
This initiative seeks to promote the improvement of young Dominicans by offering opportunities for personal growth in the areas of economic ventures, training, technical assistance, professional technical training, sports, culture and others.
In this way, the technical and financial resources that will allow the insertion in professional life and the economic flow in each beneficiary community will be promoted.
Youth and Entrepreneurship Fair in San Juan
The Youth and Entrepreneurship Fair sponsored by the Ministry of Youth, has spread its wings in this province, putting the catalog of opportunities of the Dominican State in advice, training and financing for young people.
