Abinader leads the announcement of the opening of Katmandu Park, the most modern theme park in Latin America

Punta Cana.- As part of the actions of the Government for the consolidation of tourismPresident Luis Abinader participated this Sunday in the act of Katmandu Park Punta Cana opening announcement, The most modern theme park in Latin America.

Gabriel Escarrer, CEO of Meliá Hotels Internationalsaid that the first phase of Katmandu Park has an investment of 80 million dollars and in a second phase about 90 million dollars will be invested more, for a total of 170 million dollars.

He added that in the first phase, Katmandu Park will have 400 direct jobs and in the second around 200 jobs, for a total of 600 jobs.

First palace reconstruction of the Paradisus Punta Cana hotel

During the ceremony of the first palace, Gabriel Escarrer, CEO of Meliá Hotels International, stated that this investment and commitment to the Dominican Republic they would not have been possible without the support and endorsement of President Abinader.

“Of the 47 countries in which Meliá is present worldwide, I always give the Dominican Republic as an example for being the country that has best managed COVID-19 and the great transformation of tourism here”indicated the CEO of Meliá Hotels International.

Escarrer recalled the promise made President Abinader that Meliá together with its partners Falcón’s Beyond would invest in the country more than 400 million dollars and would create more than 3,700 jobs, and stressed that the promise is a reality and will be fulfilled in his mandate.

“Hopefully I have another mandate at least”exclaimed the Spanish investor.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, stressed that the credibility generated by the Government of President Abinader has been an engine to promote the country and a show of confidence for the benefit of all Dominican workers.

Likewise, Álvaro Sans, architect for Meliá Hotels International, stated that the construction of this hotel will be something revolutionary and unique, with an ecological and avant-garde designwith reduction of the carbon footprint in a 80%which makes it a benchmark not only Dominican, but worldwide.

Inauguration of the Falcon’s Resort by Meliá hotel

Prior to the ribbon cutting that opens the new Falcón’s Resort by Meliá, carried out by President Abinader, the CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer explained that the new complex is a combination of a hotel that will be closely linked to the Katmandu Park amusement park.

“What we want is for the amusement park to continue at the hotel, for it to accompany the client for the next 24 hours that they will be with us”exposed.
