Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader ordered the modification of the labor relations regulations, the increase in licenses and permits for the servants of the Dominican public administration due to the birth of their children.
Through decree 312-22, of June 14, 2022, the president extended to parent public servants the one-day permit that is granted during the first 12 months of the birth of their children, to provide them with pediatric care.
Likewise, it establishes as a new measure that both the father and the mother have the opportunity to request up to three permits per year of up to three days, from three months of birth to five years of age, in order to attend to any special situation of their children.

On the other hand, the same decree grants public servant parents a permit of 15 working days within the first three months of the birth of their children.
These new measures guarantee the public servant father to participate in the fulfillment of his own parental responsibilities of a newborn child.
The provisions of this decree correspond to government policy to promote respect for the principles of equality, non-discrimination and fairness among public servants.
