President Luis Abinader dedicated several moments last night to share and chat with the players and leaders who are going to the World Baseball Classic.
The president held a private dinner at the Intercontinental hotel in which he reiterated to the members of the national squad: “The people expect you to return with the champion trophy”.
Many of the players who spoke with El Nacional reporters after the match concluded said they smiled and enjoyed the jokes and anecdotes.
The president, according to what I was able to establish with some of the attendees, established that there is a great enthusiasm, optimism and desire to represent the country by the Dominican players.

Abinader expressed his full confidence in the talent and dedication of the Dominican players.
He also highlighted the impact of baseball as a symbol of national identity.
The players shared in a relaxed atmosphere with the head of state, prior to the start of the series of two exhibition games that will serve as a prelude to their official participation in the competition.
