San Francisco de Macoris, DR. – President Luis Abinader reiterated that the city of Saint Francis of Macoris, Duarte province, is a thriving city with great economic dynamism, This is a reflection of the general economic situation in the Dominican Republic.
To obtain these results, he stated that it is the responsibility of the State to create the necessary conditions, such as legal frameworks and local permits, so that the entrepreneurs can be continue to develop in the best way.
In the case of the Duarte province, the president listed some of the works already delivered and others in the pipeline, to continue promoting the various sectors, such as the inauguration of the Seventh Brigade of the Army and the Ring Road, which can be used from February 2025.
Abinader added that a regional hospital, the reorganization of public offices and educational centers will be delivered between this year and next, and work is being done to clean up the Jaya River to improve the quality of life of residents.
INAPA will invest more than RD$7 billion in four years
These works are added to those that will be worked on by the INAPAwhich projects an investment of 7 billion pesos in the next four years.
Its director, Wellington Arnaud, explained that in the next 30 days a solution will be found for Las Guáranas, the first stage of the Pimentel sewage system was delivered and work is being done on the treatment plant in that same district and the Villa Riva sanitary system.
He also indicated that a project is being worked on to guarantee drinking water, with an investment of RD$3.9 billion and 300 km of pipelines, increasing the storage capacity by more than three million gallons, which currently exceeds 4 million.
Wholesale Expo 2024
The president’s words were made at the opening ceremony of Expo Mayorista 2024, considered the largest commercial event in the northeast region, with the participation of more than 200 exhibitors from all over the country and of various kinds, such as food, beverages, communications, beauty, vehicles and others.
The president of the organizing committee of the Fair, Carlos Manuel Almánzar, thanked the head of state for his presence and the important investments made in the Duarte province.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, stressed that the event is a fundamental pillar for regional economic development and that they will continue to provide the necessary support so that the country continues to demonstrate stability and growth, being an example in the region.
“We are aware of the strategic role that wholesalers play in the distribution structure of food and consumer products. Therefore, we continue working to strengthen each link in this chain, allowing economic growth to continue in a sustained and equitable manner.”
Within the framework of the fair, from August 28 to Sunday, September 1, entrepreneurial companies were given the opportunity to exhibit their products and services free of charge, and awards were given and a special dedication was made to the country of El Salvador.
More than 50 cultural activities were also scheduled, with artistic presentations, educational and recreational talks and workshops, children’s attractions such as inflatable and mechanical games, a zip line, a cooking show, and a Food Park.
