The President of the Republic, Luis Abinaderhighlighted this Thursday the sustained growth of the dominican economy and the drive to create jobs of quality, thanks to the trust of national and foreign investors in the country.
During the formal opening of the National Employment Day: “Your job is here”which he led together with the Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivaresthe president stressed the importance of initiatives such as the installation of the Moon Palace hotelwhich in its pre-operation phase will hire 3,500 employees Dominicans.
“Only that company, at this moment, in its pre-operation stage, is going to hire 3,500 employees. Moon Palace is a Mexican company foreign investmentand that is why the Government is so active in promoting investment, not only because it brings new currencies to the country, but because it generates jobs for Dominicans, of increasingly better quality,” said Abinader.
The president also highlighted the work of Ministry of Labor and the National Institute of Vocational Technical Training (Infotep) in the training and job placement of workers, ensuring that coordination between the public and private sectors is key to continue promoting national development.
New industrial warehouses will be inaugurated
Likewise, he announced that this weekend he will inaugurate two new industrial warehouses in the free zone of San Juan de la Maguanaas part of the government’s commitment to promote employment in all regions of the country.
“This weekend I will inaugurate two new industrial warehouses in the free zone of San Juan de la Maguanaa place that needs employment. That is the function of the Government: to create the conditions, both for the national investment as for the foreign one, so that they generate job opportunities“said Abinader.
The president concluded his speech by congratulating the team of the Ministry of Labor and thanking the trust of the companies that bet on the Dominican Republic.
“This is an act of very special significance, in which Eddy Olivares and I have been working for a while, because it reflects a very positive sign of the dominican economy“said President Abinader.
7,000 jobs available
In this scenario, the Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivaressaid that this Thursday the RD-Trabaja Program with the opening to this National Employment Day: “Your Job is Here”, where 66 companies make available to Dominicans 7,012 jobs formal.
“This act, led by our president Luis Abinadersymbolizes the continuity of a state policy clear: a policy that places the decent work and formal at the center of national development,” said Olivares.
He stressed that work is not just a means of subsistence. “Work is dignity, it is independence, it is freedom. And when a government commits to create formal jobswhat you are really doing is building citizenship, social justice and well-being”.
The fair was held at University of the Caribbean (Unicaribe) in Santo Domingo.
