Santo Domingo.—Through the Decree number 3-26the president Luis Abinader He continued this Tuesday with the movements of officials in his government, making position changes and new appointments.
One of those changes was Nelson Arroyowho served as executive vice president of Seguros Reservas and from now on will be the new general director of Customs, within the framework of a government reorganization that seeks to strengthen foreign trade and institutional efficiency.
Arroyo served during the 2020–2024 period as president of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel), a position from which he led important regulation and modernization processes in the sector.

He was born in the municipality of Moca, Espaillat province, and has a doctorate in Law from the Central del Este University.
He has extensive political and legislative experience. He was councilor of the San Pedro de Macorís municipality in 1998, civil governor in 2000 and deputy to the National Congress between 2006 and 2016, a period in which he chaired the Chamber of Accounts Commission and was a member of the Justice Commission.
He has also served as spokesperson for both the PRD and the PRM and is the founder of the firm Arroyo & Asociados.
