Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader congratulated the team from the Republic of Domingo on Wednesday, after qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time by defeating Jamaica 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the Men’s Under-20 Championship. CONCACAF 2022.
The president points out on his twitter account that he joins the happiness of the entire Dominican people.

With the victory, the Sedofutbol Sub-20 became the first Dominican team in any category to get a place in a FIFA World Cup.
At minute 10′ of the match, the Cibao FC youth put the Dominican Republic ahead in their match against Jamaica.
In minute 33, after a great cross from the left of the field, Diefri Mensu attempted an acrobatic scissors kick that generated nerves in the Jamaican defense.
