Abinader cancels trip to the UN: He will remain in the country to supervise work before Fiona passes

Santo Domingo.– Before the effects of the hurricane Fiona in the country, the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, canceled his trip to the assembly of the United Nations Organizations (UN).

“Given the effects caused by the passage of Hurricane Fiona, it is essential to attend to the needs that are currently needed in our country, for this reason, I have decided not to travel to New York this week. I will stay in the country supervising the relief work in the areas affected by Fiona,” said the president.

Consequently, the president will visit La Altagracia, El Seibo and Hato Mayor this Tuesday after Hurricane Fiona.

The Head of State will arrive at the municipality of Higüey at 11:00 in the morning and will hold a meeting with all government authorities and service institutions.

Later, Abinader will visit the Shelter at the Hermanos Trejo School and later the Los Platanitos neighborhood.

Then, the ruler will move to the province of El Seibo and visit the Giandiana neighborhood.

Finally, you will visit the Villa Vilorio sector in La Ceiba de Hato Mayor.

The head of state will tour part of the eastern area to monitor the damage caused by Hurricane Fiona.

Hurricane Fiona left one million 151 thousand 384 homes without drinking water and 709 thousand 272 families without electricity, after the exit of 128 branch circuits due to the passage of this phenomenon through the Dominican Republic.
