President Louis Abinader returned to the country this Saturday morning after his participation in the IX Summit of the Americas, in the city of Los Angeles, California.
After his return to the country, Abinader he returns to his usual commitments as head of state.
Within the framework of the Summit, the president exhausted an agenda that allowed him to present the main achievements of his administration and, at the same time, once again request the international community to seek a definitive solution to the problem of Haiti.
In his speech at the Plenary Session of Heads of State and Government, in the IX Summit of the AmericasIn addition to the situation of HaitiPresident Abinader He raised two other issues that he described as urgent and that threaten the growth and well-being of the country, which are the subsidy for fuel, fertilizers and food; and security.
President Abinader participated in several plenary sessions, bilateral meetings with heads of state, government, international organizations, multinational companies interested in investing in the country.
The head of state attended the opening ceremony of the Ninth Summit of the Americaswhich was held at the Microsoft Theater and was led by the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
During the Summit, the president took advantage of the presence of businessmen interested in investing in all of Latin America to ensure that they want to do so in the country and continue with their job creation policy.
In addition, he participated in other meetings with various leaders of Latin American countries and with the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamalah Harris.
He also participated in the plenary session with all the participating leaders and the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
President Abinader He traveled accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez; the executive director of ProDominicana Biviana Riveiro; the director of the Presidential Office, Lourdes Herrera and the secretary of the Presidential Cabinet, Eilyn Beltran.
As part of his agenda, the president Abinader He also met with the Prime Ministers of Canada, Justin Trudeau and of HaitiArielHenry.
The Summit of the Americas and its forums, promoted cooperation towards inclusive economic growth and prosperity throughout the region, based on common respect for democracy, fundamental freedoms, the dignity of work and free enterprise.
Abinader He also visited the headquarters of SpaceXwhere he took a tour and talked with local executives.
The president participated together with the Minister of Industry and Commerce and Mypimes, Ito Bisonó at the beginning of the discussion panel “Democratic Governance and the Rule of Law” together with the presidents of Panama and Costa Rica.
He also attended a lunch with the High Level Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy.
Likewise, he was present at a dinner of the “IV Business Forum 2022 – Celebrating Creators and Winners”, offered by the Motion Picture Association.
In addition, he held various meetings, including one with executives from Cargill, Edwards Lifesciences and MasterCard. Also, a meeting and photo with the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamalah Harris, as well as Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean countries.
The Dominican president’s agenda also included his participation in the opening plenary session of the IX Summit, and meetings with representatives of important companies interested in the investment climate in the country.
