Santo Domingo.- The president Luis Abinader appointed, through decree 726-22, Víctor Livio Emmanuel Cedeño Brea as mayor of the Stock market.
Cedeño Brea is a lawyer specializing in economics and financial regulation and a doctor in Law and Economics (Ph.D.) graduated from the universities of Hamburg, Rotterdam and Bologna (2017).
He holds Masters in Law and Finance (MSc) from Queen Mary, University of London (2012), and in Banking Law and Financial Regulation (LLM) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2008) as well as a Law Degree from the Pontifical Catholic University Mother and Teacher (PUCMM).
He served as assistant manager of Regulation and Innovation of the Superintendency of Banks of the Dominican Republic, in charge of the Departments of Regulation, Innovation and Financial Regulation, Registries and Authorizations, Prevention of Asset Laundering, Sanctions and Economic Studies and coordinated the technical committee of that supervisory body.
Víctor Livio Emmanuel Cedeño Brea is a university professor and was vice-rector for Research at the OMG Institute. He is also a researcher, author of studies and academic articles. He has been a legal and economic adviser to important financial entities and national and international firms.
In addition, he has offered consultancies and training for global banks in the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, with more than one hundred training sessions given internationally, in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
