Santo Domingo. – The president Luis Abinader This Wednesday, Carlos Pimentel was appointed as the new head of the General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships through decree no. 614-24.
As explained by the Presidency in a statement, these new functions are added to those he already performs at the head of the General Directorate of Public Procurement, a position that from now on he will carry out in an honorary manner.
According to the statement, the objective of this new measure is to continue making more efficient and strengthening transparency in contracting processes under the public-private alliance model.

This is evident in article 2 of the same decree, which establishes the presentation, before the Executive Branch and within a period of 12 months, of a detailed proposal for the structural and regulatory readjustment of the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) and the General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships (DGAPP).
This proposal will aim to optimize operational and regulatory processes, aligning both institutions under the strategic objectives of the Dominican State, in order to guarantee effectiveness, transparency and coherence in the implementation of public procurement and public-private alliances.
